Gamers Want to Boycott Fortnite Item Shop XP Boosts

Players will soon be able to purchase XP boosts from the Fortnite item store, which some of the community don't really like.
The XP boosts in Season 2 are the subject of strong criticism from the community. Those who wish to receive all their gold variants for season 2 must reach level 350, which is almost impossible without meeting all the challenges.
Epic Games would like to sell XP bonuses in the Fortnite item store.
When you combine that feeling with the lack of additional challenges, players get a little frustrated with the current state of Fortnite Season 2 cosmetics.
Of course, it is not as difficult to reach level 100 as in previous seasons, but it is much more difficult to unlock all cosmetics.

This is why some players were angry to learn that Epic was going to sell XP upgrades in the item store towards the end of the season. They've already done this in the form of Battle Pass levels, but this time it's more "dirty".

"XP boosts will soon be available in the store"

In past seasons, reaching level 100 has always been easy.

Now, however, when the most dedicated Fortnite players have not reached level 350, selling XP boost seems a bit manipulative. They set a goal that is almost impossible for most people to achieve, and then consider selling additional support to help you reach that goal. Whether you like or hate old combat passes, they never included anything like that.

For this reason, some Fortnite players are calling for a boycott of Item Shop XP in season 2. "I think it's important that we talk to our wallets and let Epic know about it."

I think it's important that we speak with our wallets and let Epic know "Hey this isn't ok". We shouldn't need to spend more money on the battle pass then we already have, to unlock everything. Let's not make impossible enlightening skins the norm. Let me explain forward in the comments. from r / FortNiteBR

The Fortnite community does not tend to be taken over by developers.
These players are taking a stand against something they consider the first step in a wrong direction. Epic made it difficult to reach the Octuple variant last season, but it was a reasonable task with the length of this season. This time, the players revolt.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Epic Games wants to reverse its decision to sell XP boosts in the store or not. This choice is ultimately theirs alone.
